Welcome to
Pure Excitement Comics, the number one source for original
Golden Age comic book reprints on the Web!
I've got something
a little different lined up for this 23rd issue of PEC -- an all-humor format! This issue
features two great humorous superheroes and one returning favorite! And be
sure to read all the way to the end of this page for a big CD-ROM announcement!
First up this month, and returning
as a result of reader demand, is Frankenstein,
in a story from Prize Comics no. 59, published in May-June of 1946 by
Feature Publications. Frankenstein appeared in Prize Comics nos. 7-54
and 56-68, as well as 33 issues of his own comic, Frankenstein Comics.
Our second feature this month
is Lt. Hercules in a story from
Green Lama no. 7, published in January of 1946 by Spark Publications.
Lt. Hercules appeared in Green Lama 1-8..
In the final spot this issue
is Stupid Manny, from Clue Comics no. 4 published in
June of 1943 by Hillman Periodicals, Inc. The character appeared in Clue Comics 1-11.
Hope you enjoy this issue. Also,
the Target and the Targeteers CD-ROM is still available, along with a brand new CD-ROM
focusing on the original Golden Age Fighting Yank! More information about the CDs,
which cost a mere $10 each (shipped), can be found at this link!
All stories are believed to be in the public domain*.
